To get a better idea of the Bodice Ripper genre, you might check “Heart of
Romance Novels” in YouTube and listen to them discuss what people THINK
comprises a reader of bodice rippers compared to who actually reads them
because they say it better than I did. Again, I agree that the book you
read was horrible!
oh god, typical cut and paste couple. This is why I’m sooo picky with
romance, despite it being my favorite genre. (I love hate first, love later
type of relationships, but not when the characters are so cookie cutter and
basic.)
Darling, that’s not bad porn…that’s just bad writing, period. It appears
that the passage you are reading is near the end of the book. I don’t think
anyone would read the entire book, as you said, just for the small part of
the book that might be a love scene. I actually like bodice rippers because
those are the only books that I KNOW are going to have a happy ending and I
don’t like books that have a bad ending and make me sad. Very seldom do
bodice rippers sink to the level of “porn”.
